THE CLIENT

Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) is a government agency focused on providing quality education for students in Indiana, with a particular emphasis on special education services and dispute resolution.

THE CHALLENGE 

IDOE required an efficient system to handle complaints, mediations, and due process hearings related to special education students. The existing process was cumbersome and lacked a streamlined method for filing and managing cases, resulting in delays and inefficiencies.

THE SOLUTION / EFFORTS 

eimagine created the Indiana Complaint, Hearing, and Mediation Process (I-CHAMP) system, a robust electronic filing and case management platform. Built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 with an externally accessible web portal, I-CHAMP allows users to easily file and oversee cases and enables IDOE’s Special Education Dispute Resolution team to monitor and progress cases effectively, ensuring data linkage between complaints and enforcement actions.

THE RESULTS 

I-CHAMP streamlined the complaint resolution process, reducing the administrative burden on IDOE and improving data accuracy through integration with other IDOE platforms. This system met and exceeded operational and compliance expectations, providing a model for future projects and significantly benefiting both the Department of Education and external stakeholders such as parents, guardians, schools, and attorneys.
