eimagine has always focused on our CIC goals – these are our Company, Individual, and Community goals. It’s not just about what we can do on our own but how we can come together and truly make a difference as a team, in our community. Each year we select a calendar of events that we encourage employees to volunteer for, sign up for, or donate to.
This was the first year that we participated in a local event supporting the Alzheimer’s Association called QUASH, the Quest to Unravel Alzheimer’s Scavenger Hunt. Participants join in teams of 2-4 and are presented with a series of hometown Indianapolis trivia questions and clues to reach QUASH challenges. The event is set up as a scavenger hunt and obstacle course, awarding points to teams based on correct answers, number of challenges completed, and overall time. This year, the event celebration and awards ceremony was held at the Rathskellar with free food, drinks, and live music.
One of the things I enjoyed most about Quash, and one of the reasons we promoted it, was how different it was from any other community event. It’s not just another run or walk – not that I think there’s anything wrong with a traditional 5k – but this is a great, unique way to spend time with your coworkers, family, friends, or whoever your teammates are, as you join together for one common cause. Not only are you helping raise money for research and care for those with Alzheimer’s, but you’re also helping yourself and teammates participate in mental and physical activities – two things that help prevent Alzheimer’s. Quash is unlike any even you’ve participated in before, and I highly recommend finding out what’s all about so you can join in the fun next year.
